Captain
James Sloan, Salvation Army
of San Jose, California
Jim is the administrator of the Adult Rehabilitation Center for the Salvation Army, serving four counties, Santa Clara, Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito. The Salvation Army Thrift Store sales support this program, and Jim is also in charge of this. His wife Barbara, holding the rank of Captain, helps him tremendously in this job and their ministry. They have served the Army for six years.
They have three children and three granddaughters. "I love humor because it helps me not take myself and my situation too seriously, " Captain Sloan says." I was fortunate to grow up in a loving family where humor was part of our daily life. I have tried hard to pass that on to my kids."
