Neiman
Marcus Their web site does not have much on wine, except maybe an event. This is difficult to share as what has happened since I started collecting wine in 1963 ( as a reporter I drank 1959 BV and French wines and it sure impressed the ladies I dated that I enjoyed good wine and food ). While there are more boutique wineries and more wine being produced than thirty-five years ago, there are more people interested in good wine than ever before. Wine education, tasting, and enjoyment has created more competition for the better wines, driving up the prices as supply and demand cannot keep up for the better wines. So when you learn some sources, you don't give them out as you are creating more competition for yourself. K&L Wine has the best prices and selection, plus are on line. You know I also like the Wine Club, 1200 Coleman Avenue, Santa Clara, California ( less than a half mile from my office ), and also Oakville Grocery for the hard to find. You know I visit Beverages & More. Now here is one of my secrets for the hard to find stuff, especially the Champagnes. I give you this to help you celebrate the Year 2000 or as a wedding or college graduation present. Neiman-Marcus. The better wine producers around the world want to be in Neiman-Marcus. Chris Sanchez knows that and orders the best Champagne and wine you can find. He is especially great on Champagne ( while the Wine Club and K&L are very good places for prices, for gift boxes and the extra-ordinary---I know Chris Sanchez is a great buyer.
