Joke of the Month

The rules are simple to win: No "xxx" jokes, sorry. Kit Menkin cannot win (relatives, friends and employees can enter and win). Please note, if in the decision of the judges there is no "best" joke, a previous month may be included, and like in horseshoes, there are no ties. Winners of previous months can also win a second or third time - There is no limit.

Please send me your favorite joke. The first one to send it, not only gets the credit, but a good bottle of wine or a box of chocolates (the winner’s choice).

" I'm the oldest of four, two brothers and one sister. I grew up in a small town about an hour's drive from Wichita, Kansas. My parents still live there. I spent two years at Kansas State in Manhattan, Kansas, and two years at Wichita State, where I received my B.A. Between my junior and senior years, I married my high school sweetheart. Shortly after graduation, my husband, a pianist, and I moved to San Francisco. We didn't stay long but moved to Seattle where we lived for eight years. We then again moved back to the Bay area and eventually divorced."

" I have two sons, both of whom are engineers and live in the Bay area. One son is getting married in April. My first job in banking was in Seattle and I been working in banks ever since. I recently began working for WestAmerica Bank in Santa Rosa as the senior real estate credit officer for Sonoma and Lake County."

I'm a board member of 2 non-profits. One is the Vallejo Community Arts Foundation, which allocates city funds to the various art groups in Vallejo, and runs an art gallery and small community theater. The other is Satellite Homes, Inc., headquartered in Berkeley. Satellite Homes owns and operates 1,200 affordable residential units for seniors.

"I like to travel, read, and garden. I've been to Europe three times in the last four years, plus other destinations. Next is Hawaii in June with my mother and sister. I just finished reading the last book of a trilogy by Terry Brooks. They are fantasies with a good vs. evil theme. They were very entertaining and I would recommend them if you like the genre. The first one was "Running with the Demon," which was a New York Times bestseller a few years ago. I've known Kit for some time, and he's quite a guy! "

"Yeah, you know: I get a little each month, but not enough to live on!"
